World Humanitarian Day 2026

AUGUST 19TH 2026

The theme for this year’s World Humanitarian Day, created by the United Nations in 2009, is “honouring fallen humanitarians and calling for greater protection of health care.”  We join in thanking and honoring aid workers around the world, particularly our own team who work tirelessly to support the people of Ukraine.  We also lend our support for enhancing medical and mental health care, an area of great need in the Jewish communities of Ukraine.

We appreciate our outstanding group of compassionate individuals who give of themselves day in and day out.   These staff and volunteers continually show up for people in need, even as they endure many difficulties of their own including loss of life, illness, injuries, and financial hardship.

Thousands of generous people around the world donate money to make our work possible; without them thousands of individuals would be without food, shelter, medical care, and more.

We hope and pray for an end to the crisis, sooner rather than later.  In the meantime, with your help, we will continue to provide critical aid to those who have no one else to turn to and nowhere to go.

Thank you to the many people who make our work possible, along with the millions of other people who do similar work in all corners of the earth. Together we save lives and restore hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
