“After a long and frightening winter, summer arrived with warmth and sunshine, but the daily reality for many families had not changed,” said Rabbi Simcha Levenharts of JRNU. “Financial hardship continues to deepen, and many displaced families long to return home while struggling each day to provide the most basic necessities. For many of them, humanitarian assistance remains essential.”
In response to the tremendous and growing needs, over the summer months we distributed thousands of food parcels and continued to operate our soup kitchens in cities around the country. The response was overwhelming:
“When the food arrived at their homes and community distribution points, their eyes said it all—the relief of knowing they are not alone, the comfort of knowing that someone is thinking of them, and the anticipation of receiving nourishing kosher food,” continues Rabbi Levenharts.
Beyond meeting immediate nutritional needs, this extensive distribution effort reminded families that they are not alone and not forgotten.
Together we save lives and restore hope.
