Recently, forty-five Jewish students and young professionals from across Ukraine attended a seminar in the Carpathian Mountains, organized by STARS Ukraine and supported by JRNU.
The program, led by Rabbi Pinchas Vishedski, CEO of STARS Ukraine and Rebbetzin Dina Vishedski, featured a rich blend of lectures and classes on Jewish topics; trips; recreational activities; and opportunities to bond with peers.
STARS Ukraine continues to provide critical support to young Jewish adults throughout the year. Hundreds of professionals and students attend seminars and other events that offer much more than a Jewish education--they offer an opportunity to escape the stresses and strains of war for a few hours, and connect with others in the community:
“This consistent commitment to organizing seminars and bringing students together from across Ukraine, has proven invaluable” says Rabbi Vishedski. “It strengthens the fabric of young Jewish life and nurtures a dynamic future leadership for Jewish communities across the country.”
Many new participants in the STARS program attended this year’s summer seminar, marking the beginning of their journey in this wonderful program. We are grateful for support from the STARS world organization, led by Rabbi Avi Kessel, and YAHAD, a program of the Federation of Jewish Communities led by Rabbi Mendy Wilansky; without them this program would not have been possible.
Together we save lives and restore hope.
