Teachers and staff at the Jewish Lyceum #144 in Dnipro recently completed a special training course about how to respond to emergency situations. This training was conducted in collaboration with CWA (Chabad World Assistance) which has extensive experience preparing for and responding to disasters and crises of all types, and JRNU.
The training is an important part of preparing staff to perform critical functions under duress. Participants received new and important information and learned essential skills, including how to remain calm and composed in emergency situations. The training is especially important for the teachers and other staff who are with children throughout the school day; they are responsible not only for the educational process but also for the safety of students:
“It is extremely important for us that every Lyceum employee understands how to act in difficult situations, as parents entrust us with their most precious possessions—their children,” emphasized Lyceum director Elena Krasnova. She continued, “We sincerely thank JRNU and CWA for organizing this training, for their cooperation, and for the knowledge our teachers and staff have gained. This training gives people greater confidence and an understanding of their responsibility and is another important component of the system of safety and care for children that we strive to constantly improve. For our Lyceum, the opportunity to conduct such programs is yet another manifestation of the enormous attention paid to children and teachers by the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro, under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
Together we save lives and restore hope.
