Purim Is Coming To Ukraine

FEBRUARY 13TH 2024

This year Purim begins at nightfall on Saturday, March 23, and ends at nightfall on Sunday, March 24. In Ukraine, and around the world, the holiday will be celebrated with costume parties and parades, feasts with delicious baked goods (Hamantaschen), and food parcels gifted to friends, family and those in need. Children will make noise with groggers, during the reading of the Megillah, that recounts the heroic intervention of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai, to save the Jews from the evil Haman.

Preparations have been underway for several weeks, with large containers of special food and other ceremonial items arriving at our warehouse. Our trucks will travel from one end of the country to the other, delivering packages to distribution points in synagogues and community centers. Thousands of people will enjoy a brief respite from the ongoing crisis, as they celebrate the historic triumph of the Jews, long ago.

We look forward to celebrating the holiday of Purim, and to peace in Ukraine and around the world. In the meantime, with your help we continue to save lives and restore hope.

Together, we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
