As the Jewish New Year approaches, a special video was produced in Ukrainian, explaining the central mitzvah of Rosh Hashanah — sounding the shofar.
The video presents key insights about the shofar blasts — many of which may surprise even seasoned listeners.
With the backdrop of the shofar blowing, the video is intended to foster spiritual connections and encourage participation in this timeless mitzvah: "The mitzvah of the shofar stirs something deep within each of us," shared Rabbi Bistritzky.
The video is part of an ongoing initiative supported by JRNU, to include as many Ukrainian Jews as possible in the upcoming High Holiday celebrations. After more than 3 ½ years of fear and trauma, it is more important than ever to provide the people with an opportunity for spiritual renewal and emotional support, as well as ongoing humanitarian aid. Together we save lives and restore hope.
