More Tragedy In Kyiv Overnight

AUGUST 29TH 2025

Late in the evening on August 27th in Kyiv, missiles killed 23 people including 4 children between the ages of 2 and 17; and injured 48 others. More than 600 missiles and drones attacked all night, with direct hits across the capital city. First responders were still pulling victims out of homes well into the evening, with more than 10 people reported missing: families were torn apart and lives were stolen.

At least 20 locations in Kyiv were impacted. Nearly 100 buildings were damaged, including a shopping mall in the city center, and thousands of windows were shattered. JRNU staff were fortunate to escape injury from a nearby explosion.

Our staff and volunteers will be lending support and assistance to the people of Kyiv wherever possible. Together we save lives and restore hope.
