The high holidays in Ukraine were made special by generous donors and the tireless efforts of JRNU staff and volunteers. Despite the continued reminders of the ongoing crisis, frequent air raid warnings and trips to the shelters, and tragically, explosions in several cities, thousands of Jews celebrated Rosh Hashanah , Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah. Families attended services and other events at synagogues and community centers. They enjoyed communal meals in the Sukkot and danced with the Torah. The special events were especially meaningful this year; after enduring more than 3 ½ years of war, the Jews of Ukraine need spiritual support and encouragement more than ever before.
We are grateful for the generosity and compassion of people across the globe who make our work possible. Thank you!
