Iryna is a program coordinator and teacher for Jewish Relief Network Ukraine in Sumy. For more than 15 years, she has been supporting the Jewish community, helping children, adults, and the elderly.
During one of the many air raid attacks on Sumy over the past few years, a shell exploded in the yard of her building, shattering windows and causing other damage. Iryna fell from her apartment and suffered serious injuries. Fortunately, after many months and extensive medical treatment she has made a full recovered.
Thanks to our supporters, we were able to support Iryna during her difficult time, while she received critical medical care and rehabilitation; we also repaired her home including installing new windows.
Today, Iryna is back doing what she loves, working with our team, caring for people and supporting her community. She continues to be an inspiration to others who marvel at her determination and resilience; after all she has endured she remains steadfast in her commitment to help the Jews of Ukraine.
We are grateful to have Iryna on our team. Together we save lives and restore hope.
