Over the past two days, the people of Kherson suffered many tragedies as city medical facilities were targeted in the ongoing war. On October 30, a shell pierced the wall of a hospital ward, injuring an 83-year-old woman. In addition, a 61-year-old woman is in moderate condition after she suffered a concussion and other serious head injuries. In other parts of the city, two men were hurt in a separate attack, with both of them sustaining concussions.
One day prior, on the morning of October 29th, a children’s hospital was attacked causing injuries and significant damage to the facility. Nine people were reported injured including four children and three medical staff members.
Our staff and volunteers work closely with the residents of Kherson to provide support to those in need, including food, shelter, medical care, and social services. With the onset of winter weather, the needs are greater than ever. Thanks to our generous donors we are able to save lives and restore hope.
