This week, Ilya Golberg, Chief Security Advisor at JRNU, provided much needed emergency preparedness and security training in Dnipro. Jewish community leaders and activists attended the informative session where they gained valuable tools to enhance their awareness of potential security threats including terrorist or antisemitic attacks.
Mr. Goldberg emphasized the need for carefully planned procedures that all staff can execute in the event of an emergency. Using real-life case studies as examples, Mr. Golberg demonstrated step by step actions that can be taken to mitigate risks and prevent serious harm. He also shared stories of how well-trained staff in Jewish organizations around the world have responded effectively to many different security challenges.
“Security is not only about technical measures,” noted Rabbi Reuven Kaminetsky, “but also about the readiness of each individual to understand its importance and know how to act in any situation: what to pay attention to, how to assess the situation, and how to build correct behavior. We are very grateful to JRNU and to Ilya Golberg for this important and timely training.”
The security training program is part of JRNU’s broader efforts to support Jewish communities across Ukraine, including improving awareness and building resilience against attacks and threats of all kinds. Together we save lives and restore hope.
