Helping People Survive the Winter: Felix

JANUARY 16TH 2026

Winter in Chernivtsi is always very cold, but this year is worse than most. Many days the temperature remains in the teen and drops down close to 0 at night. These conditions pose grave risks for everyone, particularly the elderly. We are working hard to ensure people have heat and hot water in their homes, and we encourage them not to venture outside unless absolutely necessary.

Recently, Felix, a long time member of the local Jewish community, came to us for help. As a man who proudly worked his whole life to care for himself and his family, it was difficult for him to make the request, but when the boiler in his home stopped working, leaving him without hot water and heat he was desperate. Felix has no family available to lend support, so he reached out to his rabbi for assistance.

Within a week, a new boiler was installed in Felix's house, and it is working great. He no longer has to worry about freezing temperatures and a lack of hot water at home.

It was our honor and privilege to help Felix during his time of need, providing him not only a boiler, but peace of mind and reassurance that he is not alone and not forgotten. Together we save lives and restore hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
