Caring For The Young And Old: In Uzhorod And Throughout Ukraine

NOVEMBER 21ST 2025

Every day in Uzhorod, elderly members of the community receive hot nutritious meals to sustain them, particularly during the cold winter weather. This small city (population 115,000), situated at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, along the Uzah River, has remained relatively safe throughout the current crisis, but life is difficult nevertheless, and many people are struggling. Sadly, the local hospital provides a brutal reminder of the many tragedies that have occurred, as people recover from injuries sustained in the continued attacks. Our local team provides regular and ongoing support to many individuals throughout the community.

Throughout the country, children remain an important focus as we tend to their medical needs, including eyesight. With the new school year underway, it's more important than ever for children to see clearly, allowing them to fully participate in the classroom activities.

Food, clothing, medical care, and heating all remain primary areas of focus for the leaders, staff, and volunteers of JRNU who work tirelessly to provide for the people of Ukraine. We are grateful for the support of our generous and committed donors who make our work possible. Together we save lives and restore hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
