Attacks Across Ukraine Lead To More Than 30 Deaths and More Than 120 People Injured

MAY 15TH 2026

Over the past three days, massive drone attacks on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine have resulted in the deaths of more than 30 people including 4 children. Eleven people were rescued from under a large pile of rubble when a large residential building collapsed. In all, 18 apartment buildings were destroyed in the capital city.

In the attack on Wednesday, a drone struck an apartment building in Kryvyi Rih, killing two and injuring four, including the deceased couple’s nine-month-old granddaughter. Northeast of Kryvyi Rih, four people died from a bomb strike and three other people were injured.

In Kyiv, debris from a downed drone fell on the roof of a 16-story residential building, sparking a fire, but no injuries were reported. Two people were hurt in the central Cherkasy region, and damage was also reported in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions. And, two people were injured in strikes on Dnipro and Kherson. Drones also hit energy infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region, causing blackouts.

Drone attacks on Wednesday were reported in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Ternopil regions as well. At least three people were injured in an attack on Khmelnytskyi Oblast; the victims are hospitalized in moderate condition. In Odessa, two people were injured in the drone strike that sparked a blaze in a courtyard, with several cars catching fire. A fragment of a drone fell onto the roof of a nine-story building.

Throughout Ukraine, targets included critical infrastructure and essential services in major cities, including energy facilities, defense industry enterprises, and government buildings. The brutal strikes came just one day after 14 regions were under attack, when residential and railway infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts were hit along with the port infrastructure in Odessa and energy facilities in Poltava Oblast.

Our leaders, staff and volunteers are in all the local Jewish communities, checking on residents and providing assistance and support as needed. Together we save lives and restore hope.
